Geyser Point Bar and Grill, Wilderness Lodge

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

Welcome to Themeparkfantasy. This is Ted and today we are reviewing the Geyser Point Bar and Grill located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This amazing venue is located along the shoreline of the resort that borders Bay Lake. The theme of the resort and Geyser Point is that of the Great Northwest with Wilderness and Log Framed buildings at the forefront.

To get to this location you have 2 options. First, you can drive into the Wilderness Lodge Resort and park in quest parking. Please note that during peak times of the year the resorts may limit entrance. If that is the case, then you can go directly to Magic Kingdom and then take the water transportation to the resort. The last option would be to board one of the Disney Busses either at your resort or Disney Springs to get to Wilderness Lodge. Please note that not all resort busses go directly to Wilderness Lodge so you may need to transfer.

So, now you have arrived, Geyser Point Bar and Grill is located at the back of the resort bordering the shore. It offers seating on patio’s next to the water where you can take in all of the water views. From this location you can see Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort or watch the water taxis on the lake. For that matter, you can sit back and watch the wildlife. Another option is that you can sit under the roofed area at comfortable tables and chairs. These chairs are low to the ground and couch like with thick fluffy cushions. Lastly, you can sit at the bar on the stools. Great if you are just stopping in for a quick bite and drink. Also, it go to know that this area has fans to keep you cool and heaters if needed in cooler weather. During the summer, the shade is also a very important feature. In addition, if you want to take in your favorite sports game, they have televisions lining the bar.

Since Geyser Point Bar and Grill’s remodel a couple of years back, its popularity has grown. Depending on the time of day, you may need to wait for a table. The last couple of times that we went over, we only waited between 5 or 10 minutes. Not bad. You just give you name to the host/hostess and they will let you know when your table is available usually via a notification on you cell phone.

Once in, you server will offer menus and drinks. The menu has items that include a Lump Cakes, a Bison Burger, a Salmon Salad and other amazing items. Having tried the majority of the menu, we can say that all items are tasty and prepared with care. My favorite is the Bison Burger cooked to medium rare. While bison tends to be less greasy than hamburger, it has amazing flavor especially with the garlic aioli. Very filling and it comes with wafer fries, seasoned and very tasty.

Another of our favorite’s is the Lump Crab Cake with cabbage carrot slaw and bib lettuce. This offering served with tartar sauce is a favorite that you will keep coming back for. While it is only listed on the rustic bar menu, it’s size if perfect for a lunch plate. Simply amazing.

In addition, the menu here reflects that of the take-out window or quick serve as we call it in Disney Language. And yes, the food offered at this location qualifies under the quick serve menu on the Disney Dining Plan. They also take annual passholder and cast discounts. We have always found the pricing and the portion sizes to be a good value, especially considering that you are on Disney property. Please also be aware that all food items available at the take out window can be ordered from the bar. Your server would be happy to assist.

Another great plus are the amazing drinks. With a full bar, they have many options from the Frozen Strawberry Margarita, Northwest Iced Ted (a favorite of mine), Captain’s Mai Tai and the Black Cherry Mule. Well crafted, these all are a perfect choice to cool you down and help you relax a little from your busy day at the parks. Pricing here reflects that typical pricing for alcohol on Disney property. However, compared to drinks offered at the parks, The Geyser Point Bar and Grill drinks due tend to be strong. So they have a great value for your hard earned money.

So, we’ve talked some about the menus, but to let you know, they offer lunch and dinner and the rustic fare until 10pm. In addition, they offer a variety of appetizers including fried oysters, teriyaki chicken wings, BBQ brisket and a charcuterie board as well as edamame.

We have tried all these items and have always found them to be tasty and of high quality. The Charcuterie board and the Chicken Wings remain as our favorites as the board offers a wide variety of cheeses and meats, while the Terriyaki Chicken Wings are always large, moist and flavorful. Some of the time, we will just order 3 appetizers and split them around the table. This makes for a quick affordable lunch allowing you not to be stuffed. After all, you will be going back to visit the parks and you still need to be able to move.

So, to close, The Geyser Point Bar and Grill is an amazing location that we have visited for years. While we usually are not staying at the Wilderness Lodge, this rare venue is always one that we consider when on Disney property. With so many choices, their food quality, pricing and service always help us make the decision. In addition, the location is one of kind in Walt Disney World. They are only one of three or four locations that offer seating on the shoreline. This in its self is another of the reasons that we come back the this location time and time again.

Now its your turn. Head on over to The Geyser Point Bar and Grill. You will not be disappointed. If you would like to see a video on the location, you should click above. We’ve tried to capture the atmosphere, but you will still need to experience it for yourself.
