Is D-Luxe Burger In Disney Springs Worth the Trip? Review

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

Hey guys, Welcome back. Today we’re taking a trip over to Disney Springs to visit the very popular Dining Location, D-Luxe Burger. This delux burger bar is located off the beaten path behind Home Comin’s, the exterior is inviting. The menu here is burgers. I’m not talking Fast Food Burgers either. The D-Luxe Burgers are large in diameter, plump, and full of flavor. Additionally, they have a massive Buffalo Chicken Sandwich for those you would like an alternative to the Burgers. Finally, French Fries are very flavorful. Is this delux burger bar a best place to eat at Disney Springs? We're here to check it out.

So, no matter the basics, let’s go over our experience and thoughts on the overall experience at this possible best place to eat at Disney Springs. First, we ordered two burgers, the El Diablo and the Barbeque Burger. Our third choice was the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Other Items on the menu included a traditional Classic Cheese Burger and the Southern Burger. Additionally, we had Fries and 2 Shakes.

First, the Barbeque Deluxe Burger is a Signature-blend Beef Patty that is topped with a large Fried Onion Ring, Muenster Cheese, Crispy Bacon, Tangy Barbecue Sauce, Grilled Sweet Onion, and Crisp Lettuce. The size of this overall deluxe burger was large and thick. You had to squish the buns together to find this into your mount. The combination of condiments and bacon gave a nice overall flavor. The BBQ sauce was subtle and sweet, an excellent combination. Cooked to Well Done, this burger was a good choice and very flavorful.

The next burger was the El Diablo Burger. This deluxe burger was an excellent combination of Chorizo and Signature Blend Beef Patty. Additional condiments included Fried Banana Peppers, Pepper Jack cheese, Crispy Lettuce, Ripe Tomato, Grilled Sweet Onion, and Chipotle Mayonnaise for a little extra kick. I asked for the burger medium. However, due to the chorizo, they had to cook the burger to well done. Just a note that it was not cooked to well but relatively medium, as there was still pink. All of the condiments worked well together, giving this deluxe burger the right level of flavor. I did expect that this burger would provide more of a bite, but none the less, it was tasty and filling.

Finally, we opted for the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich as it sounded fantastic. The sandwich is a Golden Fried Chicken Breast topped with spicy Buffalo-Ranch Sauce, Blue Cheese Crumbles, Crispy Bacon, Fresh Lettuce, and Ripe Tomato. The fried chicken was large and cooked perfectly. However, this buffalo chicken sandwich was missing the buffalo. It possessed almost no buffalo flavor. In contrast, they did put ample blue cheese crumble, which was the sandwich’s underlying flavor. If Blue Cheese is your flavor, then this is the perfect chicken sandwich for you.

Now, The French Fries. These were one of the best parts of the meal. Freshly fried, freshly cut potatoes. These were cooked to perfection, flavorful and crispy.

Also, we did purchase a chocolate gelato shake and a strawberry gelato shake. While these did have a good flavor, they were on the thin side. Additionally, for the $7.50, they were a little on the small side, but not a terrible choice. Also, while these shakes were a bit thin, they were full of flavor.

Next, after placing your order, you go find a table, and they bring the order directly to your table. This method works well for the mobile ordering system that the location is are employing to keep up the social distancing. For seating, you can choose from inside, outside on the porch, or some overflow seating out front. This seating also provides you with an umbrella to keep you out of the sun.

Now, while this was a good lunch, we do have some thoughts that might make this quick-serve experience perfect for you and your family.

First up. This quick-serve was a pricy lunch for three people. Two burgers, one chicken sandwich, three large fries, and two gelatos cost us over $80. If I had chosen to get a drink, we would have been pushing $90. Keep in mind that this is listed as a quick-serve location by Disney Standards. If you were in a park, say Magic Kingdom, this meal would have been 10% to 15% less. That said, the quality of the food at D-Luxe Burger is many steps above park food.

Suggestion One: With all that said, the biggest mistake we made was to purchase three large fries. These fries were $7.50 each, so we spent $23 on fries. In turn, the three of us could have purchased one large fry or two regular fries at $5.00 each. We did bring the three orders home and actually got two meals out of them and still threw some away.

Suggestion Two: If you’re bringing your burgers home, then skip the gelato shakes. While they were good, they weren’t earth-shakingly good. Besides, by the time you get out of Disney Springs, they will be melted and basically flavored milk. Next time we’d either opt for fountain beverages or water.

With all of this in mind, we did enjoy our burgers at D-Luxe Burger. However, for the money, we will probably head over to the Boat House for the Gibson Burger or over to the Edison for the Edison Burgers. These two options are similar if not less in price and offer you a flavorful alternative to the Burgers here at D-Luxe.

Now, if you want a quick deluxe burger bar option in a low-key location while in Disney Springs, then D-Luxe is an excellent choice. Again, I would eat here under the right circumstances. Nothing bad to say, just at Disney Springs, you have so many unique locations to experience that can be a best place to eat at Disney Springs, this location takes the back seat.
