The Boathouse Reopens, Finally

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

Welcome to the reopening of the Boathouse in Disney Springs. Finally, we are now able to return to one of our favorite locations to enjoy the view, excellent food, and great drinks. So, please sit back, and let’s enjoy all the Boathouse has to offer.

We are Theme Park Fantasy, and we are here to help your theme park fantasies come true. We review everything from food, resorts to attractions. Let us help you with your perfect Disney vacation

With the phased reopening of Disney Springs, the Boathouse is now open to the public. As with all locations, Disney-owned and 3rd party operated, public health measures are being observed. In particular, Boathouse requires masks to enter the restaurant. Once in and seated at your table, you may remove the mask and enjoy your evening. All cast members are required to wear masks at all times for your safety.

Social distancing is also being observed. The restaurants are operating at a reduced capacity to make this possible. In addition to this, they are spacing quests out in the dining rooms to allow for the spacing.

With this in mind, we would like to advise you to obtain a Disney Dining Reservation. At this time, however, the My Disney Experience app does not accept reservations, so go directly to the Boathouse site. This will help ensure that you can enjoy your fantastic evening out. We recommend the deck areas as they are the most relaxing and allow you to take unobstructed views.

The new norm for all of us now and in the near future certainly will include items similar to Disney Dining Reservations to help us all organize our time in the parks and recreational areas. The vast majority of Disney Springs Restaurants have their reservation systems in addition to the My Disney App. During this time of reducing Disney operations, we strongly advise you to make your reservations on the establishment’s private system to ensure success.

Finally, we have made it to the Boathouse and have been seated. Let’s take a look at the location. The restaurant is located right on the water in the middle of Disney Springs with amazing views of the whole area. From the West Side to the Market Place, you can see what is happening. You can also watch as the amphicars troll around the lake. These cars resumed operation on 5/31. These are an additional cost from the restaurant. Still, you will receive a discount should you decide to ride after your dining experience.

Now is the time to review the Boathouse Menu. This is one of the reasons we return time after time. We have a video of the entire menu should you decide to watch. It is extensive, offering it’s from a fantastic Turkey Club to a fantastic steak for two. The Boathouse’s parent company owns a butcher plant in Chicago, so their steaks are of amazing quality.

Besides the sandwiches and steaks, the Boathouse menu includes fresh seafood and a raw bar that features daily items with the highest quality, including shrimp, oysters, and fish of the day. You can even find an amazing lobster roll that contains an entire lobster’s meat filling the bun.

Being from the Northeast where fresh seafood is the norm, we can attest to the fantastic quality.

Finally, you can also find family favorites like the Gibson Burger, Andouille Mac and Cheese, and an assortment of fried seafood baskets. All of these items have a fantastic flavor and are affordably priced. You may enjoy the best of the Boathouse Menu during your visit to one of the focal points of Disney Springs.

This trip out, we tried the Mahi Sandwich, which came on a special bun with a tangy tartar dressing. Also, we received coleslaw and seasoned fries. The sandwich, which is a staple of the Boathouse Menu, was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I will say that this was my first time trying this sandwich, and it was worth the chance. I would choose it again. Priced around $25, this was worth the price for a perfectly lite sandwich. I have to state that the Gibson Burger is my choice for lunch and that this burger should strongly be considered.

Next up was the lobster roll. This beauty was filled to the extreme with lobster so complaints here. It was seasoned with a slightly tangy mayo to give it just the right amount of kick. It was around $30, but you got your money’s worth with this choice. Also, to note, the lobster was cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy.

Lastly, we tried the Filet Mignon Sliders. The plate came with two sliders on brioche buns. Each slider was a 2oz piece of filet, which is the perfect size for your lunch. They usually come cooked to medium. However, you can request more done if you like. These were incredibly tender and tasty. The Boathouse didn’t add a lot of seasoning so you could enjoy the fantastic flavors of the beef. Seasoned fries completed the plate, and these were crispy and flavorful. At $14, this was the steal of the day.

We also had drinks with our meals. The Boathouse offers Coke products, coffee and tea, and a full bar with some excellent specialty cocktails. We tried the Strawberry Gin Fizz. Filled with fresh strawberries and mint leaves and Gin, this drink was refreshing with a kick. However, our choice for the day was the Blueberry Lemonade. Stoli Blueberry, Vodka, and homemade lemonade, this was the keeper for the day. Huge in comparison to the other drinks, this was the strongest and the best value of all. Tart and refreshing, this lemonade is the perfect choice to sip on the dock by the water while you watch the lake traffic stroll on by.

As always, our trip to The Boathouse was the perfect way to spend your afternoon or evening. The atmosphere is unlike almost anything you will find in Disney Springs, let alone Disney World. Also, The Boathouse Menu is impressive and will accommodate nearly any type of diner. From salads to fresh beef to fresh seafood, it is the perfect mix for every family member to find a fantastic choice for lunch or dinner. So, make this Disney Springs Restaurant one of your top options to visit during your visit. You won’t be disappointed.
