Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

This Uniquely theme bar/lounge has limited seating on a first come first serve basis. It is very important to know that in order to get seating, you need to go directly to Trader's and give the host/hostess the number of guests in you party and your cell number. In turn, they will put you in the system and give you an estimated time. We waited around 30 minutes, which allow us the opportunity to stroll through the main building of the resort.

Keep in mind that this is a very popular experience and is very well known. Therefore it is very important to plan some time. The entire bar is extensively  themed and the cast members play various parts in your experience. Based on the drinks that are chosen, the bar comes alive with variously themed skits.

For our drinks, We had the Mojito, The Pearl , and the Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Rum. All three were dressed with various items and garnishes. All Three were not lacking in the way of alcohol and all were very tasty.

Other specialty's such as the Nautilus caused the cast members to wear flotation devices and make their way around the room.

The Uh-Oa is a 2 person rum specialty drink that causes the picture of the volcano on the wall to erupt. We were there at Christmas, so the it was snowing on the volcano, normally it is raining.

They do also offer food at this location. The menu contains such items as: Pork Tacos, Head Hunter Sushi Roll, Chicken Flat Bread, Rainbow Bowl and Pan Fried Dumplings.

While we did get to see most of these, we opted not to try any of them as were were headed for our reservation at 'OHanna.

We all agreed that the location lived up to its reputation. The drinks were strong and colorful. The castmembers were inviting and entertaining. The atmosphere was unlike most bar/lounges on property. It was truly and entertaining and enjoyable experience.

We can't wait to go back again and have a different experience. This is a venue that you should definitely allow for in you plans while at the Walt Disney World Resort.
