Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground

Welcome to our dinning review of Disney's Trail's End Restaurant Dinning Review. Located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground. This video will give you examples and views of our experience at this Disney Dining Location. Trail's End is always a favorite of ours and we wanted to share it with you so take a look.

Now if you didn't know, this Walt Disney Dinning location is an all-you-can-eat buffet location at the settlement within the Fort Wilderness Campground Resort. It is themed after a western style diner. Staff has overalls, jeans and checkered shirts, very old west. Food quality is great and cast members are awesome. You even use pewter style plates to pick up your vast quantities of food.

This amazing venue offers southern style food in a buffet style setting. They offer a complete salad bar so you can build your own green salad. In addition, they have a hot buffet line that is unmatched at any of the other Walt Disney World locations. However, Unlike most of Walt Disney World buffets, this one has no characters. As a result of the lack of character dinning, this buffet is priced less expensive that all other Walt Disney World Buffets. The other amazing item is that this venue is only one Table Service Credit on the Disney Dinning Plan.

Here at Trail's End Restaurant, the southern style food here is plentiful. They offer such amazing items as pork chops, brisket and broiled salmon. Of course they offer chicken, roasted and their famous fried chicken. You should never come to the Disney Dinning location without picking up some of their Southern Fried Chicken. It has been amazing for years. In addition, they offer such sides as mashed potatoes and gravy, corn bread, green beans, glazed carrots. Coleslaw, Macaroni and Potato Salad are all on the menu.

Another set of items that are often overlooked are the soups. They usually have a broth based soup like a chicken or a beef soup. In addition, that always have a chili. Let me tell you that this chili is also top notch. Again, all you can eat.

Trail's End is located at the Homestead at the Fort Wilderness Campground. You can arrive at this location in 2 different methods, First, you can take a bus or drive to the resort. Once you arrive at the Outpost, you will have to take the internal bus transportation to the Homestead. Just to keep you clear and on track, the outpost is located at the front of the Fort Wilderness Resort by the main parking lots. The Homestead is located on the shoreline of Bay Lake and Trail's End is located in the main building here.

The other method is to take water transportation from the Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary Resort or the Wilderness Lodge Resort. These boats run every 20 minutes so the wait is never too long. Please note that if you are coming during peak times, The Hooptie Doo Revue is also located here and the boats may be crowned. Once on , the water transport will drop you at the beach front at Fort Wilderness. Then a short walk up the path, you are at Trail's End.

As we mentioned earlier, this location is on the Disney Dinning Plan as 1 credit, and you can generally walk into the restaurant during non-peak times. We do recommend reservations just in case as this is a popular Disney Restaurant that is not located within a Park.

In addition to the great food, they have a full bar and offer several amazing signature cocktails. The bar's name is Crocket's Tavern. Seating inside is limited although they do have a large bar that you can belly up to. In addition this bar also has a takeout window. Yes, I said it. You can order your drinks to go at the window. This is not common in the Walt Disney Resort. Finally, they have the moonshine on the menu here. This is a very popular drink and you can have it in several different flavors. The moonshine and the signature drinks are all well priced per Disney term, and all are strong and smooth.

Now we've had our food and our drinks, we need to wrap this up with desert. Let me tell you that Trail's End has not been left wanting. Again, all-you-can-eat, so pace yourself. They start out with soft serve vanilla and chocolate with various toppings. After that they have such items as banana pudding, bread pudding, smore's, brownies, chocolate chip and sugar cookies, apple crisp and many other options.

Now, if you can't get in to sit, or you just need a quick bite of food, PJ's Southern Takeout is the quick serve location for the resort and is also located here. It is run out of the same kitchen. Items such as burgers, hot dogs, and yes, the fried chicken. There is also an assortment of pre-made salads and desert options. You can get it to go and take it on a picnic over to the beach along the water.

Sometimes, we'll just grab chicken and drinks and head on over to the beach to watch the Electric Water Pageant, which has been running since day one. Put your feet in the sand and sit back. Nothing is more relaxing than a family picnic on the beach.

So, we encourage you to take a look at the video, it will give you a reference for the food, deserts and drinks. The Trails End Restaurant is a venue that you don't want to miss. It is one of our top picks to eat at in Walt Disney World. Food is good quality and the price is right.
